Presenter: Bharati Dekate

Topic: Conversational Intelligence

Mitron, Namaste.

If you have had your ears close to the ground, or even five to six feet above it, you wouldn't have failed to hear the buzz around something called Conversational Intelligence. Now you know us at the AMC, we have been trained by experienced wildlife hunters to detect the faintest sounds in the Coacharanya forest and quickly share it with our fellow members.

So we invited Bharti Dekate to explore for us the world of Conversational Intelligence (Judith Glaser) and help us gain insights into neuroscience, neurochemistry and takeaway neurotips for our coaching practice. Some of the aspects that Bharati will explore are:

  • Wisdom of the 5 brains
  • Brain Cocktails
  • Learning from our worst conversations
  • Mapping your own and your clients' reactions on a conversational dashboard
  • Frames to upregulate and downregulate conversations at will
  • Utilizing these insights with practical coaching questions

Consciousness, creativity and conversations are her life-giving forces. Bharti Dekate is an OD consultant, educator, changemaker and coach for several Indian and international clients. Through her firms WeAreIdeas Consulting and WorldReady Education, she works with client eco-systems to enable sustainable change. Bharti's work in the corporate, school and social sector is informed by her interests in research, birding, dance, music, books, travel, boardgames, theatre, neuroscience, mindfulness, handiwork, stories and creativity. Over the past 15 years Bharti has been a part of cutting edge changework to build organisational and individual capacity through multidisciplinary, holistic approaches. She is a faculty for Organisation Development at Tata institute of Social Sciences, is certified in several psychometric tools, advises NGOs, mentors entrepreneurs, has created several diagnostic frameworks and the Play2Learn method for embodied learning. She is a mother of a teen and lives in a joint family of 8 at Mumbai.
